Oral history interview on August 19th, 2001 with Mary F. Stone, the mother of Mary Ann Price (professional singer and the second wife of Tary Owens). Mrs. Stone discusses her family's lineage, heritage, and immigration to the United States. Her education, teaching career, World War II and various places she moved with her husband. As a teacher, Stone worked at a school responsible for innovating and implementing a nongraded ""School In The Round"" educational program. When she retired, she moved to Greenville, Maine and became active as a behind the scenes civic leader. She and Tary discuss changes in the town over the years and the community.

Mrs. Stone speaks at length about Greenville, Maine and her involvement in the community since she retired at her home on Twitchell Pond. She also discusses Tom, her uncle, and Dan, her brother.
