Duplicate photograph of three children playing, Ah Chou, left, Dori Dominis, center, and Paul Dominis, children of LIFE photographer, John Dominis, 1957, Original LIFE caption reads, The game, as LIFE photographer John Dominis watched it being played on the porch of his house in Hong Kong, seemed to be some kind of eastern western. But he couldn't really tell. His son Paul, 6 (right), his daughter Dori, 4 (center), and their friend Ah Chou, the 3-year-old son of the Dominises' cook, all spoke Chinese and he didn't. However, male chauvinism seeded to be involved, since Dori always would up as the tearful victim of the cowboys-or perhaps they were warlords. But things have changed. Dori is now 17, and this fall enters the University of Colorado to major in Chinese studies. Were the game to be replayed someday, she might just wind up as the warlord.
