Description
-
Constituent Troy Mitchell writes to Jack Brooks regarding a photo Brooks requested in a letter to Mitchell on November 19, 1963. The photo depicted Brooks and Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson during Johnson's visit to east Texas that October. On November 22, 1963, Kennedy was assassinated and Johnson assumed the presidency. Mitchell's November 26 reply to Brooks laments the tradgedy, but also expresses optimism for the new administration under President Johnson.
