Mural 2017-245-3 (east wall, Gearing Hall room 325) depicts a dance party. Dimensions: 14 ft. 6 in. wide x 6 ft. high. Artistic info from Gearing Hall room label: "At Miss [Mary] Gearing’s death in 1946, she bequeathed [the room's] furniture to The University provided these rooms were decorated and furnished in keeping with the traditions and standards of the pioneer Texas families. The Board of Regents appropriated funds and Mr. Joseph Mullen of Houston and New York, who was then President of The American institute of Decorators, was commissioned to do the decorating. The murals … depict a typical family group seated under the 6 flags under which Texas has lived. This mural was designed by Mr. Mullen, executed in New York and sent to Texas for mounting.”
