She describes Chicano student life on UT campus during the late 70’s. Cynthia details her involvement with the Chicano Culture Committee and Center for Mexican American Studies. She speaks about her academic involvement on Campus and how it led to her attending the National Association of Chicano Studies conference in Colorado Springs. She describes her criticisms on sexism within Chicano studies and how she became a feminist. She founded a Chicana consciousness-raising group to talk about issues. She briefly speaks about her involvement with La Raza Unida and her experience as a Chicana within the history department.
