Description

Senator Ralph Yarborough congratulates Jack Brooks on his congressional victory, as well as for his success campaigning locally for Hubert Humphrey and Edward Muskie in the presidential election. In a handwritten postscript, he states that Brooks's leadership aided the entire Democratic ticket in the election. Humphrey and Muskie lost the presidential election to Richard Nixon by 0.7 percentage points, one of the smallest margins in United States history.
