Description
-
Letter from Jack Brooks to Bryce Harlow, special assistant to President Richard Nixon, about not withdrawing his name from the Vietnam Resolution. Brooks says "it took a lot of forebearance [sic] not to do so after hearing the President's speech" on November 3, 1969; he enclosed a marked copy of President Nixon's speech [not attached to this item][camh-dob-001203]. Brooks tells Bryce: "Very honestly, I feel our interests would be best served if neither Party attempted to make political gains out of our peace efforts."
