Description
-
Remarks delivered by Jack Brooks praising the work of the NAACP. Brooks says he is proud to have stood side by side with the NAACP in many Civil Rights battles throughout his career. Brooks was one of few Southern Congressmen who refused to sign the Southern Manifesto. During his career he supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Voting Rights Act of 1965, the Fair Housing Law, and the economic and social policies of President Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society.
