The AP caption reads: "Hand of Support - A grandmother holds the hand of her grandchild in the northern Thailand refugee camp of Nan. There are 11,000 refugees in the camp, ninety percent of them Hmong tribes people who are fleeing Laos on a daily basis by swimming across the Mekong River. The Hmongs help support America during its involvement in Indochina."

The AP caption reads: "Saomang Vang is 85 years old and has been living at the refugee camp at Nongkhai [Nong Khai] in northern Thailand since July, 1975, with 12 members of her family. Over 55,000 people have been received at Nongkhai. Over 19,000 have gone on to other countries, including 8,000 to the United States. Saomang Vang is waiting for eight more family members to join her and then hopes they will all go to America together."

The AP caption reads: "They Will Never Return Home - Hassan Latif, 82, a Turkish shepherd, and his wife, Ayshe Hassan, 68, comes from the edge of Polemida near the coast of Cyprus. During the war in 1974 they were forcrd to move to the northern coast. "We lived much better before this but we are very afraid of the Greeks and will never return," he says."

The AP caption reads: "Young and Peaceful - Dian Biexnga is eleven months old and was born in a Saigon hospital. Here she rests in a hammock on Bidong Island off Malaysia. The first boat she was on with her parents landed on one of the islands near Malaysia. From there 239 people made the journey to Bidong on a 59-foot long boat."
