- Beatrice Bailey and Dolly Swfit checking pour test and running viscosities on hydraulic oils. There’s an inscription that reads, "At the left is Beatrice Bailey checking a pour test jar while on the right we see Dolly Swift running the newest piece of testing apparatus at the works lab at Paulsboro. It is a specially constructed piece of equipment used to run viscosities on hydraulic oils that must pass a minus forty temperature test. These oils are used in the many hydraulic systems of our modern planes." In pencil, there is a number, "76," and written "Paulsboro Refinery." There’s a sticker that says, "1942-1945 - Fairfax, NJ Geographical Subject." There’s a stamp that says, "Return to: Socony-Vacuum Oil Co., Inc., Advertising Department, 26 Broadway, New York, NY."

- On the back of the photo, there’s an inscription that reads, "Reading from the foreground to background we have Betty Gray, spraying on a brand,; Dot O’ Quinn is tipping the next drum over for Betty and Thelma Mattson is cleaning up a stencil so that the brands will stand out clearly and neatly. As you can see by checking the picture carefully they are working on an order for the United States Navy. With the exception of the leaders of the department and a few labor jobs this division is run entirely by women." In pencil, there’s a number written, "83," and the words, Paulsboro Refinery." There’s a sticker that reads, "1942-1945 - Fairfax, NJ Geographical Subject." Alba is checking the contents of the car as the other girls keep the drums moving to the conveyer." In pencil, there’s a number that reads, "78," and "Paulsboro Refinery." There’s a sticker that reads, "1942-1945 - Fairfax, NJ Geographical Subject." - Dot Knestaut, Kate Bateman, Grace Delamater, Myrtle Poole, Rebecca Buchanan, and Marie Heppard are running a Case Manufacturing Department. There’s an inscription that reads, "The above is the Case Manufacturing Department run almost entirely by women. The girls by the hand truck are brining shooks over to the case line for the use of the nailing machine operators. The girl at the left is Dot Knestaut being assisted by Mrs. Kate Bateman (husband now in Africa formerly of the Laboratory at the refinery). At the right Grace Delamater is preparing case ends for Mrs. Myrtle Poole (at first machine). The cases then go by conveyor to Mrs. Rebecca Buchanan who adds the other side and then on to Mrs. Marie Heppard for the bottom and then to the belt which will convey them to the Case and Can Filling Dept." There’s a number written in pencil, "87," and the word "Paulsboro." There’s also a note that reads,"(Note to Em Applegit-Heppard’s husband is in the Navy and Buchanan’s in the Army-don’t know if you want that for the story or not.)" Theres also a note that has a shop no. 69812 and Scale of 33 1/4.

There’s an inscription in the back that reads, "Dot Moran working on a stencil that will be used by the branding room girls in getting out a shipment of lubricating oil to the Armed Forces. When not working on the stencils Dot helps out a storkeeper for the Case and Can filling department issuing labels, glue, and the hundred other things needed in getting the oil out to the men at the front."
